There are a lot of childhood memories that were reawakened when watching Jim Henson's The Storyteller; The Definitive Collection. The major issue my mom had was that she found it was too scary for a child of 9 to be watching because the mood too dark.
But, that's exactly who The Storyteller was made for; a family audience for both parents and children together to be scared and riveted at the same time.
In all 13 short stories features the magic of the Henson Creature Workshop and the acting talent of UK's finest. Stars like Jonathan Pryce, Art Malik, French and Saunders give such soulful and comedic performances combined with (at the time) advanced animatronics and puppetry.
Presented in its original letterboxed broadcast format, there holds little else on the release other than trailers.
Still, it holds a special place in my collection as one of the more memorable series in my childhood.
