Plagued with troubles, the 2006 remake of The Omen should've just took the hint and gone to hell. The Special features are certainly a sight to behold though.
The 2006 remake of The Omen barely registered any good press when it first came out and the film doesn't change very much when released on DVD. However, what makes it interesting are the Special Features released on the DVD that kinda make you think about all things related to 666. In 'Omenisms', a mini documentary relating to putting together the 2006 remake with cast and crew interviews, actor Liev Schrieber put it best when he says, "Remake, why?" Already, the piece seemed to be sightly off as actresses Sissy Spacek and Julia Stiles were cast as opposing characters with one trying to kill the other and just the week previous had finished their run on stage cast as loving mother and daughter. Director Mike Jones keeps mentioning throughout the doc how this particular film had been plagued with troubles more so than any other film production he'd worked on. Case in point, one pivotal scene that was shot, revealing Damien's 666 birthmark, the entire can of film was destroyed and rendered unusable. <cue eerie music>
